Rental FAQ

How do I reserve a space?
Submit an inquiry through our contact page with your preferred date, the space you'd like, and a brief description of your event. We'll follow up quickly to confirm availability and next steps.
What's the difference between The Theater and The Auditorium?
The Theater is our dedicated performance space with a stage, ideal for shows and concerts. The Auditorium is a more flexible open room well suited to receptions, workshops, classes, and private events.
Can I sell tickets to a public event I host?
Yes. We regularly host public performances produced by community members and outside groups. Ticketing and concessions are handled through Go Ask Alice, LLC — we can walk you through the setup.
Is the building accessible?
The Playhouse is located at 17 Railroad Square in downtown Waterville. Please contact us with any accessibility questions and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Can I bring my own food, drinks, or vendors?
Catering, bar service, and outside vendors are often possible depending on the event. Let us know what you have in mind when you inquire.
Do you host resident companies?
Yes — The Playhouse is home to Aqua City Actors Theatre (ACAT) and the Elm City Community Music School, both of whom program regular seasons on our stages.
